James Hadley:The Gate Keeper!

He was one of 15 children....

James “Jack” Hadley a Thomasville, Georgia native who was born in 1936 on the Pebble Hill Plantation in Thomas County to the late Dennis and Rosetta. He was one of 15 children. Graduate of Douglass High School in June 1956 and the enlisted to the United States Air Force where he served for twenty-eight years retiring in 1984. After his service the in Air Force he worked for the United States Postal services as a postal carrier and then retired in 1997.

His Tour

 

Your text...Jack Hadley began his collection during his tour of military duty in Spain in 1968 it grew in 1979 by saving and clipping articles from newspapers and magazine like Star and Stripes, old Ebony, Jet, and books on Black American Achievers.  Jack Hadley was an ardent collector and custodian of Black History memorabilia, his collection goes as far back to his pre-slavery to the present. The Jack Hadley Black History Museum exhibits a broad spectrum of the Black existence and struggle in America. Today his The Jack Hadley Black History Museum obtains over 3000 pieces of memorabilia, collectible artifacts, and statues.

Today: A Non-Profit Black History Museum

In 1995 his lovely most respectful wife and his three children decided to incorporate Jack’s collection to a Non-Profit organization. This will enable Jack Hadley collection to not only be enjoyed by the public but to also receive support for the continued growth of his collection. Today the JACK HADLEY BLCK HISTORY MEMORABILIA, INC non-profit 501(c)-(3) is a reality and is ran by board of directors were he sits as the president. What’s in the future? For the Jack Hadley Black History Museum

The Jack Hadley Museum is facing economical times the Museum wants to raise enough funding for marketing, advertising, and promotion to help grow and expand allow public awareness.   

BoGie Entertainment, M. M. P. BLACKMONEY, and affiliates are stepping in to assist the Jack Hadley Black History Museum to celebrate this years 2011 BLACK HISTORY month, an event that will help raise money for the museum. The event is POETRY-N- MOTION Premier it’s an event that will show case Poets, Singers, Musicians, Authors, and Cultural Dancers with participation of commercial, media, and publications.

Black History we are "Celebrating Women of Color Past & Present

Come out to Poetry –N- Motion and feel the “Positive Vibes Seen, Heard, & Felt” also Catch the Rhythmic Vibes of the Featured Spoken Word Artist of “PM SWEET” and Featured Artist “SEASONS”. This event will be hosted by: “JUSTA SOL”. Poetry –N-Motion will be held at Thomasville Historical Jack Hadley Black History Museum, where black culture and ancestors will surround you. Note: This is an upscale event there will be No Tennis shoes, Foul Language, or negativity tolerated, this event is open to ALL ages.
